MINI RUGBY

Mini/Midi Playing kit.

Children should wear appropriate clothing (named preferably) and footwear for training and matches.  Here is a guideline to what's needed:

bullet

To support local business, We recommend that you buy personal rugby kit (shinpads, boots, shoulder pads, head guards etc) from Kick Off on Dale Road, in Matlock.  Make sure you say you are from Bakewell Mannerians Rugby Club to get a discount.

bullet

Boots.  Please make sure there are no sharp edges on the studs or sides of the boots.  There should not be a single stud at the front of the boot..

bullet

Studs.  Studs should be of the rounded nature and not football bladesRound Aluminium studs in pairs.  Boots should not have a lone stud at the front of the boot.  Round studs are preferable to Blades which could develop sharp edges as their name suggests.  Blades are, however, not illegal.  The players will be subject to random stud checks to ensure that whatever is worn is safe.  Please speak to any of the coaching staff if you need further guidance.

bullet

Mouthguards.  Protection for teeth and gums is really important.  For customised mouthguards - please consult your dentist.  Gum shields should be worn at all times for both training and playing.  Most Sports shops sell gumshields.

bullet

Shinpads.  These are a recommended item of protection for the children.

bullet
